Today, people building new homes need to know they are building with people they can trust.  Your Builders reputation and workmanship may speak for themselves.  That's why you're building with them, right?

Builders approved by Builtin New Zealand Ltd can apply for a written guarantee when undertaking to build a new home, or for alterations and additions to an existing home.

There are two options, depending upon the type of building contract that is being envisaged by you, and if you are just buying a kitset, our Kitset Loss of Deposit / Advance Pre-Payment Guarantee.

 

Full Contract

– when the Builder is offering a Full Build Contract - covering

Loss of Deposit
not exceeding twenty per cent (20%) of the Contract Price, or $50,000, whichever is the less
 
Non completion of the dwelling
not exceeding twenty per cent (20%) of the Contract Price, or $100,000, whichever is the less
 
Structural Defects for 7 or 10 Years

Non-Structural Defects for 2 Years


Alternative Accommodation

Carpentry Labour Only

– such as when the Home Owner is acting as their own main contractor - covering

Non-Completion of the dwelling

Structural Defects for 7 or 10 Years & Non-Structural Defects for 2 Years
but only for the faulty workmanship of the carpentry sub-trade work

Alternative Accommodation

MATERIALS, OTHER SUB-TRADE WORK and PROJECT MANAGEMENT ARE NOT COVERED.

  

Kitset Loss Of Deposit / Advance Pre-Payment Guarantee

Loss of Deposit or Advance Pre-payment due to the death, disappearance, legal incapacity, or insolvency of the kitset provider.
